What we eat can have a direct affect on how we look. For our skin to look fresh and young, it is important to eat a healthy and balanced diet for your skin. Here are some tips:
MORE PROTEIN
Protein is essential for the body. It helps to heal and repair, and give us stamina and energy. It can improve the condition of our skin, hair and nails and along with face exercise, can help the face appear toned and firm. If we were to stop eating protein, this would lead to weakened and less defined muscles in the body and face. Fish, eggs, dairy products, legumes, soya, nuts are all great examples of protein.
MORE ANTIOXIDANT
Antioxidants are nutrients found in some food which help and prevent or slow down damage from free radicals in our body. Free radicals can be caused by pollution, poor food choices, alcohol, smoking, too much sun and stress. These can cause many internal health problems as well as external issues such as poor skin tone. Eating foods high in antioxidants can help reduce this free radical damage and therefore improve the skin and general health. Some food high in antioxidants are berries, green leafy vegetables, walnuts and oats.
MORE WATER
Drinking up to 2 litres a day will help to hydrate the skin, remove toxins from the face and help reduce puffiness and bloating in the face.
EAT GOOD FATS
Good fats help to break down the bad fat in the body. They are also very helpful for lubricating the skin and giving it a youthful, firm appearance. Good food are found in things such as salmon, avocado, nuts, seeds and olive oil.
